Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the roles of object relations’ dimensions and marital satisfaction. Method: The sample of 194 married couples with no acute psychological disorders and living together for minimum of two years were selected. These couples were asked to completed Bell Object Relations Inventory (2003) and Enriche Marital Satisfaction Scale (1993). Results: The results of correlation analysis showed that there is a significant negative relationship between marital satisfaction and the dimensions of object relation (self-esteem, alienation, insecure attachment and social inadequacy). Stepwise regression data analysis results showed that various dimensions of object relations including, Egocentricity

Journal Paper , 2021 January , {Pages }

Abstract

Assessing the impact of main factors on a given factor is important in various fields of psychological research. There are some methodological and statistical methods to tackle that problem. Recently, other methods and algorithms are being developed for this purpose. One of the methods is Fuzzy Cognitive Maps, which are recurrent neural network for modelling and simulations. The main advantage of this method is that it provides flexibility to model complex systems using causal relationships, thus allowing for what-if simulations. The key purpose of this paper is to introduce and apply this method in the Psychology field. More explicitly, this paper discusses this model in depth and applies it to a psychological well-being case study.

Abstract

Reduced ability to retrieve specific autobiographical memories is a well-defined feature of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), such that science-driven interventions have emerged to improve memory specificity and thereby symptoms. However, research in depressed samples indicates that the ability to flexibly move between retrieval of specific and general memory types (i.e., memory flexibility) may more accurately conceptualise autobiographical memory deficits in emotional disturbance. This study (N=63) evaluates memory specificity and memory flexibility in Iranian trauma survivors with and without PTSD, relative to community controls. Trauma-exposed participants had experienced a serious road traffic accident. Results indicated that those

Abstract

Attention to sexual harassment at workplace is a new phenomenon which has been the focus of researchers since the 1970s. There are many models and theories to explain sexual causes, most of which have socio-cultural, biological and personality roots, as well as organizational and cognitive origins. Recently, a multi-factor model has combined all factors to investigate this phenomenon. In this article, we have conducted in-depth interviews with 31 sexual harassment victims (with age groups ranging from 23 to 47). Applying the Snowball Method, the study found what the members of the focus group described their experiences and it analyzed the sexual harassment based on patterns and theories. In response to causes of sexual harassment, the find

Abstract

Introduction: Adaptation to critical situations and psychological trauma is considered as one of the issues which has attracted a lot of attention. Thus, designing a reliable and valid scale for the studies conducted in Iran is inevitable. The present study aimed to design the Persian version of the Psychological Adaptation Scale and evaluate its psychometric feature. Method: The sample included 233 parents having children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in Tehran who were selected based on convenience sampling method. The Persian version of the Psychological Adaptation Scale was performed after translating, back-translating and revising, and was given to the subjects along with the Resilience and Depression, Anxiety, Stress questionnaires.

Journal PaperThe International Journal of Humanities , Volume 28 , Issue 1, 2020 January , {Pages 12-Jan }

Abstract

Sexual harassment at workplace is a phenomenon that has many implications for women. Also, organizations and other employees are not immune to the devastating consequences of sexual harassment against women. Victimized women respond to harassment differently, such as silence, tolerance, bullying and aggression, leaving the workplace and even positive responding to sexual demands. In this article, in-depth interviews with victims will address the reactions and effects of harassment. We have also used the same tool to analyze the consequences of sexual harassment in organizations. The main questions of the study were the type of victim response to the harasser, the impact of the harassment on the victim, and the organization or other staff. T

Abstract

Disorder (PTSD). This proof-of-concept randomized controlled trial (N=43) evaluated an autobiographical memory flexibility intervention, MemFlex. We aimed to determine whether the mechanism-focused intervention which aims to improve autobiographical memory processes may also impact other cognitive predictors of PTSD, and potentially reduce PTSD symptoms in Iranian trauma survivors diagnosed with PTSD. Results indicated significant, moderate-to-large between-group effect sizes in favor of MemFlex, relative to waitlist control, for the targeted cognitive mechanism of autobiographical memory flexibility and PTSD symptoms. A large, significant effect was also observed on maladaptive posttraumatic cognitions – a strong predictor of PTSD progno

Abstract

introduction: Previous studies have suggested that family risk factors, such as poor parenting, instability, unstable discipline and parental stress, increase the risk of developing behavioral and emotional problems in children. In this regard, numerous parenting programs have been developed based on various theoretical models, which are often focused on childrenchr(chr('39')39chr('39'))s externalizing disorders. Therefore, The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness parenting on Reducing Symptoms of externalizing disorders in primary school boys and Their Motherschr(chr('39')39chr('39')) Parenting Behaviors.Method: In order to determine the effect of mindfulness parenting A quasi-experimental design with p

Abstract

The relationship between countertransference and self-regulation process in Iranian psychotherapists Abstract Psychotherapy literature has always emphasized on the significance of self-knowledge, managing countertransference, and its application in all psychological situations. The goal of this article is to investigate the relationship between self-regulation processes and countertransference. 180 psychotherapists that have worked in Tehran voluntarily participated in this research and they completed the questionnaires. In order to investigate self-regulation three scales were used; Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), Integrative Self-Knowledge Scale (ISK), and Brief Self-Control Scale (BSC). Countertransference inventory (CI) was u

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy according to “core conflictual relationship theme” on the improvement of marital satisfaction among Iranian couples. The study population consisted of men and women who were married in Qom City for three years. 30 subjects were selected through volunteer sampling, assigned randomly to experimental (15 subjects) and control (15 subjects) groups. Both groups were assessed by ENRICH marital satisfaction questionnaire in the pre-test phase. Experimental group passed a short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy according to “core conflictual relationship theme”. To evaluate the effect of the treatment, both groups again replied to the ENRICH Mar

Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare the flexibility of autobiographical memory in patients with and without PTSD and normal people. The research method is descriptive-comparative research. A total of 58 people were included in this study; 18 samples with PTSD, 20 samples without PTSD and 20 normal people. The diagnostic criterion for PTSD was diagnostic interview based on a structured clinical interview in DSM-V and score points higher than 38 in the post-traumatic stress disorder checklist (PCL-5). Also, semantic-Lexical fluency and AMT-AL test was used to collect data. Data were analyzed using multivariate covariance analysis. The results showed that the variable" verbal fluency" as covariate variable has a significant effect on autobiog
